In the endless limitless Universe, the effects of the planet Mercury when it is having its retrograde motion is considerably important. This planet is one of the planets of our solar system which does not have a mathematical value. During this period when Mercury is retrograde, the active motions of the human beings are hindered, therefore it is necessary to be very careful.

Let us see what Mercury retrograde is bringing about.

In astrology retrograde means :- A planet while it is going direct in a given sun sign (constellation) slows down. When looked from our world it seems as if it is going backwards with respect to the other planets. Of course, the effects of the cosmic waves coming from a planet in this position is more different than normal times.

In general, there is a slow down in the ‘subjects’ ruled by the retrograde planet. However, there is an advantage in the retrograde phase; That is when the said planet starts its direct motion again, then the opportunities which you have missed before come in front of you and in this manner you are given another chance....

Apart from the Sun and the Moon, all the planets have retrograde motions. Among these, especially the retrograde motion of the planet ‘’Mercury’’ plays an important role in our lives. When this planet related to thoughts, cleverness and communication goes retrograde, the cosmic rays which reach the brains of the human beings cause their brains work slowly. Therefore, it hinders to think and talk carefully, properly and to the point.

Let us give an example from the past years regarding the retrograde motion of Mercury;

On March 27 1998, Mercury which has started to go retrograde stayed in the same position until April 20 1998.

So, during this period Mercury, which went retrograde in the sun sign Aries have been influential especially on the thought mechanism, on the decisions taken to make new starts, on the subjects of management, governmental issues and subjects concerning the leadership functions and the people who are at these positions.

The probability of making mistakes has been very high in the decisions made, the works that had to be done, and the words that had to be spoken. This may be the cause of doing things for which we shall be regretting later on.

As the sign Aries is representing the leaders, these people had to be much more careful.

Politicians, government officials, executives and the people in the media who are carrying the responsibility of other people should be very careful during this period both for themselves and for the people whose responsibility they have been carrying.

The retrograde motion of Mercury is influential on every person to a certain extent. However, the people of the sign and people who have the characteristics of the sign in which Mercury has become retrograde are the ones who get the a highest share from these influences.

In the case of this retrograde motion (in July’99) of Mercury, especially the people who belong to the sun signs of Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius may be influenced at the most.
