SUCH
AN IGNORANCE... Well, the
efforts for creating ‘’a class
of people with pyschological disorders’’ are going on at full
speed in parallel to the after shocks. This is being done by destroying
the basic brain structure –data base- of our people. According
to the news from the press ‘’the people are having sleepless nights
because of the gossips which are not logical, intelligent
and which do not have any scientific basis’’. In one of
the news papers, those who say ‘’In
the sky four planets have formed a square; this is the news of an
earthquake’’ are being accused of
fortune telling and predicting the future. Those who
are accused of being a
‘’fortune teller’’ are the astrologers who study this subject
scientifically. In
addition to this, the subject of astrology which they are dealing with
is a science specially assigned for
Hz. Ýdris, the Nabi. If we
examine the Koran carefully, we can see that nearly half of it is
related to the stars covering
the sky and the solar systems. Everything
that is being told is related to astronomy and astrology... When such
a great importance has been given to the stars, how
can we dare to accept a branch of science which examines the stars
and informs us about their system as
‘’superstitious and deceptive’’!... At this
point, the educators and the teachers have a
lot of work to do ... However,
the religious officials are regarding astrology as
‘’absurd’’ and have no interest in it. I am sorry to say, but in doing so they become very
insufficient... So, everybody
is wondering what they would be able to tell the people. The class
of non-believers, who cannot grasp the delicacy in this matter
and who are very prejudiced, are unable to make form a relation between
the stars and the human being. Therefore,
they do not hesitate to put the individuals who are giving explanations on
the subject into the class of
‘’fortune tellers’’. Let us
see how Hz. Rasul of Allah has evaluated this relation in one of his
hadiths; "My
companions are like the stars in the sky. You will find the right guidance
for the
path of Allah
in each of
them no matter whom you visit." It is
very obvious how right Çetin Altan is when he says ‘’Astronomy should also be told in
the mosques’’ The
second important point that the press is emphasizing
is as follows.... ‘’They
do not want the schools to be closed even if
the scientists are telling that
the earthquakes may last
for three years.’’ For them,
the solution to get saved from the earthquake psychologically
is ‘’to
make friends with the fear,
train the fear and develop the ability of
living together with the earthquake’’. As
a peculiar manifestation, the headline at the back page of the same
newspaper was the following: "THE
GREAT ESCAPE" ‘’In
the United States, one million people are running away from the tornado Floyd
which is coming at a speed of 248km per hour and which is considered as
the biggest tornado in the history of this country...’ So, what
can be said about this?... Perhaps
it is an after tornado (like
the after shock of an earthquake)!... As
can be seen, the news does not say that running away is wrong. It also
does not say that the people should be made well aware of the situation. Hz. Omar
is known as the person who applies the justice of
Allah. Most
of us do not know the divine reason(s) behind the ‘’Cebel’’
event which has a relation with him. Nobody
can think of the fact that
the power had been given to him by Allah by means of
fetih/conquerence . Being a
man of logic wasn’t he the one who
had stopped the armies of Islam from going into that city?... Be
patient, If you do
not have pity for yourselves, please at least have pity for the
children!... It is not
easy to grow a child, a generation... Don’t you think that such an ignorance is too much?!... Ahmet F. Yüksel |
