SÛRA-I FATİHA -5-

"Ihdinas sıratal mustakiym"

(Guide and lead us to the correct path’’

Abdurrahman İbn Zeyd İbn Eslem says;

"Sıratel müstakiym by itself is Islam."

Nivas Ibn Seman narrates what he has heard from  Hasan Ibn Suvar Ebu’l –Ala...

He had said that he heard the following from the Rasul of Allah :

‘’Allah has shown the right path with the following examples;

On both sides of the  sırat (the path) there are two walls, and some open doors with curtains hanging over them. At  the door of the path (the sırat) a public crier shouts ‘Oh! You the humans, altogether enter the right straight  path  and don’t make curves on your road.’

Also, on the sırat there is another public crier. When any of the humans wants to open one of these doors,  he says ‘It would be a pity if you open this door, because if you open it you’ll go in.    Sırat is Islam, the two walls are  the  limits exposed by Allah, the open doors are the taboos of Allah.’  This caller at the beginning of  sırat is Allah’s book. The caller on the sırat is the stimulant (the preacher) of Allah in the heart of every muslim.’

Many of the companions had narrated the same hadith.

As can be understood from the interpretation of the Koran, the verse means ‘’Please direct us over the road which goes directly to the truth/ to the real and which is the shortest.’’

The word ‘’ihdinas’’ is used  for indicating the act of  being guided, being directed for the  direct, shortest road....

"sıratellezine enamte aleyhim"

Like Hz.Mohammad, Hz. Abu Bekr, Hz.Osman and Hz.Ali whom you have granted with your guidance for the shortest path, for living the truth, please also guide me for that path which goes to the truth/the real.

"Gayril Mağdubi Aleyhim"

Do not let me stay among those who have turned their faces from you  because you have shown your wrath to them, but please, let me be among those whose faces are turned towards you.  If someone’s face is  turned towards  Allah, then he is within the scope of the decree

"enamte aleyhim". If he is busy dealing with things that he is going to leave in this world, in other words if he is dealing with things that are not being approved by Islam, then he is within the scope of the decree ‘’gayril mağdubi aleyhim’’.

"Ve Leddalin"

To be protected from turning one’s face from Allah, to be protected from dealing with things that one is going to leave in this world, to be protected from going astray because of having seen beings other than Allah.

Following the Chapter of Fatihah there comes the Chapter of Ikhlas, which opens, deciphers the meaning of Fatihah, especially the first verse i.e. Elhamdulillahi rabbulalemin, however to which we do no give much importance and find it too simple.

We had given the explanation for the Chapter of Ikhlas at the first stage.

In the first verse of the Chapter of Fatihah, Allah’s knowing hu’s self  from the aspect of the names is stated. In the Chapter of Ikhlas, consisting of three verses, this knowledge is taken above to the dimension of the essence.  Therefore, the Chapter of Ikhlas should be perceived and evaluated very well.
